I offer a bespoke service, which could involve some or a mix of the following:
An initial conversation is free (or the price of a coffee and cake, if you’re local). Once we’ve agreed that there’s scope for a project, I’ll write a proposal. It will set out what I think I can do, what information I’ll need from you, and how long it should take.
Often, I’ll suggest an introductory project based on my day rate. If that concludes and you’re happy, then perhaps we’ll move on to a bigger project which could be secured for an agreed fee or retainer.
Some clients like me to provide a ‘one day brand’ review, charged at my day rate. I’ll cover as much of your business as I can and write a report with simple recommendations. These may be things you can do in-house, or perhaps you need my help to make them happen.
For the review, I can work to your brief – perhaps you’ve a particular problem you’d like me to address. Or you may prefer an unbiased ‘customer’s eye view’ of your business. Many clients are surprised by what these can reveal.
For smaller local businesses, especially ones that benefit the community, I discount my day rate or will work in smaller day parts. I’m even open to barter – especially if you offer services that I require.
There are many Marketing Consultants to choose from. It’s important to pick the one whose experience matches your needs.
My background is in strategic brand and product marketing. I’ve worked in advertising and partnership, learning from some of the sharpest agencies in the business (including the iconic McCann-Erickson).
I’ve a solid grounding in consumer motivation, planning (the all-important ‘thinking’ bit), paid media and telling complicated product stories economically.
I’ve also spent time working with retailers as diverse as John Lewis, Rough Trade Record Stores, Boots, Currys, Richer Sounds and countless independents. That’s in the real world, as well as online.
So, if you’re looking for a ground-up review of your marketing strategy, possibly with a review of a retail operation, then let’s talk.
